Course Descriptions

Art:  Do simple art projects each week.

Art History:  Learn about art throughout time.

Chess (beginning):  Regardless of age, sign up for this class if you need to learn the basics of playing chess.

Chess:  This class is for those who have a basic knowledge of the game and want to improve their chess skills by playing with others.

Children Around the World:  Learn about life in a different country each week.

Cooking:  Simple recipes to get you cooking.

Discovering the Poles:  We will be learning all about the North and South Pole.

Drama:  We will rehearse for and put on a simple play.  There will be two drama classes, one for age 5-9 and another for ages 10 & up.

Fairy Tales:  We will read fairy tales and do art and other projects related to them.

Going Buggy:  Kids will not only learn all about 15 way cool bugs, but they will also learn how to draw them.  This class will involve some reading and copy work.  At the end of the session the kids will have their very own bug book with their writing and drawings.  All supplies will be provided.

Government:  Learn the basics about how our government functions.

Indian Lore:  We will be meeting the requirements for the Indian Lore Merit Badge in this class.  Anyone 11 and up can register.

Money:  Learn all about money, how to make it, and how to manage it.

Storybook Art:  Each week we will learn about a storybook artist, like Eric Carle and Robert Sabuda.  We will look at the way they create their artwork, and then create our own in that style.

Where Food Comes From:  It took a lot to get the food you eat to the table.  Come find out how it began and where it comes from.
